Forgive me if this first diary isn't completely 'substansive' but what I wanted to do was try to capture Obama's nomination in the best way I knew how. Considering it left me speechless, I went out and gathered all the images of the newspaper frontpages for every state in the US, as well as other countries around the world. I then compiled them into a video and added a few songs to it.
I know that in the grand scheme of this historic candidacy, my little video isn't all that important. But my goal for this was to make just a little something to share with my fellow supporters as a way to celebrate this moment, and to catch a small glimpse of its impact around the world.

Every state is represented, as well as several other nations.
The first song I chose was "Never Gonna Break My Faith" by Aretha Franklin and Mary J. Blige from the film 'Bobby'. After watching the film it struck me how far we really have come, and how some politicians live on in our history. I believe that when history looks back on Barack Obama's candidacy, he will live among giants.
The second is "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner (I have a friend who made an Obama soundtrack, and this is her favorite song to listen to on that soundtrack)
I hope you guys enjoy it!
(and again, considering this is my first diary here, I apologize if this isn't long or analytical enough! I read the diary rules but I had also noticed others had posted images diaries so hopefully this is ok.)
